Of Apollonius and Minimum Packing Circles

Posting something that I've been working on as a part of my curriculum. The problem was related to having the AI find out the minimum packing circle for a group of differently sized circular discs, and also calculating the minimum bounding circle for a given configuration of discs.

Blinn and Phong

So far, I calculated the net light energy at any point in space as the sum total of the ambient light and the diffuse component of the sphere's material.
The Phong illumination model allows for modeling of the specular term (remember the highlight we get on smooth reflecting surfaces?
